What an awesome time that was had by all who attended the WIM Black History program "Celebrating our Heroes and Sheroes."
Thank you to the Rev. Alicia Bailey, Rev. Dr. Linda Hill, the Manhattan District and the wonderful people of St. James/St. Philip for their hospitality. Rev. Alicia did an awesome job in engaging the Manhattan District to be a part of the program. We were blessed by ministry in dance, the creative arts and in song.
Kudos to those wonderful young people of Trinity AME Church (Rev. Dr. Murray, Pastor) they sung us happy. Sis. Diamond Smalls (youth of SJSP) ministered unto the Lord in dance as she reminded us that "God is Able."
Thank you to Sis. Toussant (St. Luke), Sis. Frazier (Bridge Street) who ministered through Creative Arts. The Rev. Lillian Allen (Metropolitan) did it. She reminded us we, she, you and I have been changed and the Angels in heaven in heaven are calling our names. This led to the Rev. Dr. Linda Hill praising God and delivering a sermonette. The Dance Ministry of First AME Church-Bethel closed us out and as they reminded us that God is "Turning it around for me."
It was an wonderful evening. Thank you to everyone who participated on the program, attended, prepared the food, driving and or escorting the young people there, whatever your role, "Thank you."
