Reverend Gwendolyn Brown Walker is a native New Yorker. She accepted Christ as her savior at the age of nine. Upon being called to ordained ministry, she pursued and obtained a Master’s of Divinity from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 2009. She was ordained itinerant elder in the New York Annual Conference of the 1st Episcopal District of the AME church that same year.
She currently serves as an associate minister, Sunday school General Superintendent, and teacher of new members' classes, at the Greater Allen AME Cathedral in Jamaica, New York. In July 2016, she was appointed Church school Superintendent for the Jamaica Long Island District of the AME Church. Upon Graduating from high school, she went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree, and two Master’s degrees, one in Early Childhood Education and another in Supervision and Administration both from Queens College of the City University of New York. For 30 years she worked for the Department of Education. She was a staff Developer/ Literacy Coach at PS 34 in Queens Village. She continues to pour into children and adults in the body of Christ. She thinks of herself as a lifelong learner and teacher. She resides in Freeport, NY, she is a mother, sister, aunt and friend. |
