NEW School Year!

Good morning my sisters & Associates:

I greet you this morning in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Well, its that time again. The school buses are rolling, morning routines have changed, we are rushing trying to get breakfast done, getting children to bus stops, walking or driving children to school.

As this new school year begins, let us remember to pray with and for our children. Although it has been stated that prayer is not allowed in the schools, we can still teach our children to pray. Encourage them to utter the Word of God no matter where they are.

May we also remember to pray for our Teachers, Principals, Guidance Counselors, Social Workers, School Safety Personnel, Para's, Office staff everyone who are in the school system. We are encouraged to pray for the safety of both students and staff.

May we also remember to lift up the parents, grandparents and or guardians of our children. Pray that they will join with the school staff with an understanding that they share the same goal, the safety, wellbeing and education of their children.

I believe that all of us encounter a child each and every day, so PLEASE pray for our children, that they will walk in their purpose this school year. As we encounter them, declare and decree the Word of God over a child each and every day.

Let us do our part, and I am sure God will do the rest. Encourage a child and school staff every day and we will certainly see the difference in their lives.

Be Blessed

AME WIM 2014 Quadrennial Conference

Praise the Lord my sisters:

Where do I begin? Let me say, to God be all the Glory. By now, I am sure many of you have viewed the many pictures that have been uploaded onto facebook or have heard about it. The pictures are only telling a small portion of all that transpired.

To our Connectional President, the Rev. Kimberly Detherage, Esq, and the entire Connectional Executive Bd., thank you for hosting such an awesome conference. The Spirit of the Lord was in the place. Each preacher/teacher were awesome, real and practical.

Our Connectional President preached a mighty Word on Friday night from the subject "All" and Presiding Elder Hart from the Philadelphia Conference Preached us home on Saturday morning at the Jarena Lee Breakfast, "You can't stay here."

Then my sisters, let me say, that the First Episcopal District was in the house. OMG, there were I believe about 60 women from the First District. And NYAMEWIM, I am so proud of this Annual Conference Women in Ministry. There were about 25 of us. I believe that as an Episcopal District and as a Local District we represented and supported our Connectional President well. I know that she was pleased to have so many of her sisters there with her. Of course, we cannot forget our very supportive Associate member in the person of the Rev. Henry A. Belin11. When you look at the pictures, he is right in the center showing that he supports us fully. Thank you Rev. Belin.

At the Christian Education Congress that was held a few weeks prior, the New York Conference AME WIM was represented by having the most number of participants. I am not sure if we also had the most number of representations at this Conference, but we were well represented. Go, New York, WIM!!!!!!  We  also want to thank God for the presence and support of our Episcopal leadership, Bishop Ingram and Supervisor Rev. Dr. Jessica Ingram, and for their willingness to take  pictures with us.  I thank God for being able to serve and work with all of you. For your continuous support and as a conference, we are growing stronger and more unified.  We will be having the pictures from the conference posted on our Website very soon.  Thank you all. To God be the Glory.

WIM End Of Year BBQ

OMG. The NY Annual Conference AME Women in Ministry had our very first BBQ meeting yesterday afternoon and it  was wonderful. We were blessed to have our adopted son Bro. Carl (biological son of Rev. Dr. Linda Hill) adopted member, Bro. Randy Bailey (husband if Rev. Alicia Baileyp) and for our very own Associate member, the Rev. Henry Belin. We were also blessed by the presence of our Connectional President, the Rev. Kimberly Detherage, Esq.

Thank you to all who attended, worked the grill, contributed and for just being in the place. We had a wonderful time. The children I believed enjoyed themselves probably more as they made new friends and played together without incidents.

To the Women of the NY Conference AME WIM, thank you so much. You guys are the best. You guys showed up contributed, offered to help as you arrived up until the time you guys left. It was wonderful.

My prayer is that as we continue to meet, and  in  more casual settings, that we will begin to know each other better and not just by face. That has always been my desire that we will know each other so that when we meet up at the various meetings/conferences, we are not offering a "fake" smile, but smiling and speaking with each other, because we know each other.

Thank you for sharing of yourselves and for some of you for letting your desires be known regarding various things. We will keep each other in prayer as we all continue on this journey.

If you have not already registered for the WIM Quadrennial in SC next month, it is not too late. Registration has been extended until August 1st. Please try your best to be there. Also, please do fill out your FDR forms for the 2016 General Conference.  It is important that we fill out this form as our assistance is needed in all areas, and as women that we begin to take our position. As the theme for the Quadrennial "Take thou Authority" let's begin to do so.

Be Blessed and enjoy your summer as we will not be meeting for the month of August, but you will receive information from us during that time.

Grace and Peace my sisters:

Thank you to all who attended our Monthly meeting on Thursday May15th. A very special "Thank You" to Rev Michelle Grimes and Rev April Beckles of Bridge Street AME Church and to their Pastor and First Lady, the  Rev. David and Valerie Cousin for hosting us.

Thank you to our Worship Leader, the Rev Addunola Waterman-French, Pastor of Greater St. Paul AME Church for leading us in a brief presentation on Worship After the presentation and worshipping, we went before the Lord in prayer. We followed as the scriptures instructed us to do, we prayed for one another. We prayer for our families, our children, our seniors, those who are sick, NYAMEWIM (Connectional and District President, and Local Coordinator), our Episcopal leadership, Pastors, Ministers Evangelist and all in authority. We prayed for each other and for you as well.

I am grateful to God for the women who were in attendance. Several ideas and thoughts were shared as to how we can/should move forward. We are hoping to put in place several of these ideas as soon as possible. It was also noted that in order for us to move to the next level will require the presence and  support of you my sisters. I am clear that we all cannot make all the meetings, but we are encouraging you to participate as often as you can especially when the meetings are held on your Presiding Elder's district.

As we move forward, please note that we will join with the Ministerial Alliance once again for the Annual Ministerial Alliance picnic in June. In July we will hold our very first BBQ meeting which will  be hosted by Salem AME Church. As this is a BBQ, this meeting will take place on FRIDAY, July 25 2015, not on our usual Thursday evening. At this meeting, you may bring your children as they will be able to play on the grounds and be in a safe environment. There will be no meeting in August, and we will resume in September.

Please be prayerful as we as expecting to hold elections on each Presiding Elder's District as a Coordinator is needed on ALL PE Districts. Please share your interest of holding a position of either Coordinator, Ass't Coordinator,  Sec.  or Treasurer

Be Blessed my sisters and have a wonderful restful night
